Food and Dining


Holland House has two fine chefs dedicated to providing the best meals for our guests. We understand that the best hospitality starts in the kitchen, and to that end we work hard to provide top quality meals made with care and attention. We also have an ethos of buying as much local produce, some home-grown, free-range, organic, and MSC sourced fish whenever possible and practical. British Farm Standard is our minimum requirement.

We also work hard to cut down on waste and only cook to order, that is, we only provide meals for the number of guests we have, so no meals are thrown away.

Although we do not offer a menu for each meal, we can provide a wide variety of health-related variations to all the meals, including gluten free cake at tea-time, vegetarian, pescatarian, or vegan meals, so long as we are informed of requirements during the booking process. If your requirements are complex it might be easier to email us with an example or two of your typical meals, or a list of what you can safely eat. The ethos of Holland House is that we have a dining room (not a restaurant) and that we eat the same meal together, as you would at home – hopefully achieving a sense of being together in a welcoming home, rather than a hotel or restaurant.


We are able to cater for a wide variety of private occasions, such as celebration meals, garden parties and funeral teas, please see our Food leaflet 2021 for further details.  We offer Afternoon Tea’s and have hosted tasting menus and dining evenings, look out for our events on our on-line booking page and social media.

We have a licensed bar which stocks a range of wines, including English, and locally brewed beers, ciders, fruit juices and presses.

Homemade jams and pickles from our kitchen are available to take home after your stay and during the summer months we also have plants from our gardens available to purchase.
