Trustees message

A message to all the guests and friends of Holland House, from the Trustees.

In response to the Government’s latest guidance (23rd March 2020) Holland House retreat centre and gardens will be closed until the Government advises that it is safe to open again.

Doors closed but hearts open

Please be assured that the mission and ministry of Holland House as a Christian house of welcome and prayer remains embedded in who we are, and everyone here continues to pray for you, for our nation and the world. The Warden offers prayers in our chapel each day at 5pm, please email him with any requests.  We are actively exploring new ways to express our ministry via online technology and small gestures of kindness as opportunities may arise in our local community. We hope to be able to update you with more details soon: Please keep an eye on this page and our social media channels for latest information.

Staying in touch

During the period of closure all events must necessarily be cancelled but we will be endeavouring to reschedule as many of these as possible to a future date, guided by the wishes of group organisers and event leaders. If you have already cancelled a booking, or have a booking in May or June,  please email Reservations@hollandhouse.org.  If you have a future date in mind from late summer onward and into 2021, please let us know and we’ll endeavour to re-book. The Warden will reply to discuss your options.

Securing our future ministry

Holland House is a small charity with modest reserves and along with many other businesses and charitable organisations we are faced with great challenges as a result of the current situation. We are deeply grateful to our customers and supporters who have already offered to leave their deposits with us for reassignment to a future booking; this generosity could mean all the difference to our long-term survival.

How you can help

Although our re-opening date remains unknown, subject to advice, we are still able to accept future bookings so if you would like to make a provisional booking for later in the year please email Reservations as above. If you wish to cancel rather than postpone your booking, we hope you might consider offering the deposit already paid, or another amount, as a donation. This would be much appreciated and of great help. We are exploring all emergency options offered by the Government to support our financial position, but ultimately it will be the support and bookings of our customers who will ensure we can continue our mission and ministry.

Clearly the future of events over the next few months are in doubt, but hopefully late / post summer will be fine. If not, refunds or re-bookings will certainly be offered.

Holland House seeks to live in harmony with creation and to enhance the mental, physical and spiritual health of our guests, staff and volunteers. In these challenging times, we offer our thoughts, our prayers and God’s blessings for you and your family.

Stay safe and well
