Three men in a boat !

Holland House rowing boat “Maria” took to the River Avon on September 19th, with two Bishops and the Warden of Holland House on board.

Bishop Robert Paterson, Bishop Graham Usher and Revd Ian Spencer rowed Maria 20 miles downstream, from Cropthorne to Tewkesbury in just under nine hours.

The row was sponsored in order to raise funds for the Holland House chapel appeal, and in the event over £700 was collected toward the chapels refurbishment.

Ian and Robert are planning another row in 2018, watch this space !

“Maria” is available for hire to guests at £10 during the summer months – just ask at reception. It’s a lovely way to explore the river and get close to the wildlife, including Swans, Mallards, Coots, Kingfishers and occasionally Cormorants and Herons.
