We’re delighted to be able to host the first “praying differently” day since restrictions were eased !
During the pandemic very many people have turned to God to help make sense of what’s happening, and to look for solace and comfort. However, the method of communicating with God, which we call prayer, can be as much of a stumbling block as it can a help. Praying Differently is about exploring ways of praying that may either be new to you, or you’ve heard of but not tried. Usually restricted to just four people, Revd Ian Spencer has increased the availability to 6, so that more people may come and discover fresh ways of praying.
“PRAYING DIFFERENTLY” is for folk looking for a richer experience of prayer.
“Many of us find prayer either difficult, less than satisfying, or have grown bored with it.However the Christian faith has a very rich heritage of prayer, for example prayer ropes, icons, meditation, rosary, nature-based, chanting, scripture-based, and more. This one day retreat explores a variety of prayer practices, and can be booked by individuals with a maximum of 4 people at any one time (more by prior appointment) which allows for personal discussion time with the tutor in the afternoon. If your prayer life isn’t as rich as you’d like it, book “praying differently” and see what other forms are available to you. See and experience prayer afresh, and regain your enthusiasm and commitment to the sacred and transforming practice of prayer”.
Led by Revd Ian Spencer, Warden of Holland House, the day included lunch and refreshments (offered under Govt guidelines for restaurants)
