Holland House would like as many people as possible to enjoy and gain benefit from our events and our pricing is carefully considered.

However if your circumstances are such that it’s not possible to attend an event due to the cost, do please ask for a bursary application form, either by emailing reservations@hollandhouse.org or by telephoning 01386 860330. Bursaries are  limited to one application per person per calendar year.

    Yoga for Lent - Getting Focused Staying Focused

    An ideal opportunity to begin Lent with a spiritual practice that unites body, mind and spirit.  Christians have always understood Lent to be a time of preparation for Easter, a time of focusing our attention on the ultimate moment of faith. However, we all struggle in our efforts to be focused over long periods of time, and so this retreat will introduce the yoga practice of "pratyahara" - a very practical method we can use to help us get focused and stay focused (and healthy !)

    This retreat will engage us in asana (postures), pranayama (breath-work), chanting, meditation and discussion. Revd Ian Spencer will use passages from the yoga sutra along with Biblical passages as a way of illuminating our path during the retreat.

    In addition, Ian will provide all participants with a short yoga practice to use at home during Lent.

    Meals will be vegetarian
