Richard Rohr meditation - Dualistic thinking - "stinkin thinkin"
One of a series of day retreat’s on offer throughout 2019, working with the teachings of Fr Richard Rohr, Franciscan Friar, author and leader of the Centre for Action and Contemplation.
Led by Rev'd Ian Spencer these retreats are based on themes from Rohr's book of daily meditations "A Spring within us".
Theme for today is “Dualistic thinking” Rohr writes…. “dualistic thinking is the well-practiced pattern of knowing most things by comparison, and then very quickly by competition …. what the Recovery Movement call “stinkin thinkin”. How does it arise in us, what are the consequences, what is its relationship to suffering, can we break out of it ?
Each day will include a short act of worship, teaching, discussion and free time to practice/consider what we’ve learned.
The day will conclude at 4.00pm with afternoon tea.
Cost £38 and includes morning coffee, 2 course lunch and afternoon tea.
