Richard Rohr meditation - True Self
One of a series of day retreat’s on offer throughout 2019, working with the teachings of Fr Richard Rohr, Franciscan Friar, author and leader of the Centre for Action and Contemplation.
Led by Rev'd Ian Spencer these retreats are based on themes from Rohr's book of daily meditations "A Spring within us".
Theme for today is “The True Self” Rohr writes “I think the only and single purpose of religion is to lead you to an experience of your True Self in God”, or as the Zen Masters would say to experience “the face you had before your parents were born”. The key word here is experience (not “know” – in terms of empirical or rational knowledge). So, how do we experience who “I am” ?
Each day will include a short act of worship, teaching, discussion and free time to practice/consider what we’ve learned.
The day will conclude at 4.00pm with afternoon tea.
Cost £38 and includes morning coffee, 2 course lunch and afternoon tea.
These days fill up quickly in advance, to be assured of your place click this link to book on-line: Rohr meditation May 9th
